Individual advocacy

If you have a disability, GdAA can support you when you have a problem that needs solving, or we can represent you if you'd prefer. We can also help your family or carer to work for your rights.

Systemic advocacy

This type of advocacy is designed to change 'systems' that cause or maintain injustice or inequity, such as legislation, policies, practices and attitudes.

Community development

We work with people in the community who have experience of disability and a desire to collaborate to achieve positive outcomes for their community, e.g. disability networks and advisory groups.

Support to self-advocate

We can empower people with a disability to present their own views and stand up for their rights in day-to-day living, e.g. at work, or in the general community.

Community education

Our education activities are designed to raise awareness and promote enhanced understanding of the rights, needs and issues of people with a disability in communities. These activities include forums, media releases, and presentations.
